Welcome to GA Gelbvieh Stud
The GA Gelbvieh Stud was founded by Gelbvieh Australia Pty Ltd in 1988 with the import from Canada of ten young females, that arriving on 23rd December 1988. An embryo program began using imported semen with the herd being built up to 30 to 40 breeders. Over the years selection has been made for easy calving, easy care, quiet, correct conformation cattle, that rear their calves well even in hard times, and stack on weight when the feed grows. Stud principle, Margaret Wilksch bred Murray Grey cattle for many years producing a number of winning carcasses and looks for similar attributes in the Gelbvieh herd. We recommend our bulls as ideal for stud breeding and for cross breeding where a lift in return can be more than 25pc from hybrid vigour; and many feedlots and butcher are eager to obtain Gelbvieh cross steers. Gelbvieh and Gelbvieh cross females are excellent mothers.
The preferred European breed for cross-breeding....
